Open Sailing - 27th June, 2023

We were so lucky last night (Tuesday) to get a break in the poor weather conditions to allow us to take our guests out on the water.

Throughout the day, heavy showers and lack of wind threatened this event to be cancelled. However, once again, these conditions did not deter our skippers from turning out to offer their services and take to the water for what turned out to be a most enjoyable sail.

Most boats were becalmed shortly after leaving the harbour but perseverance paid off and they were rewarded with a brisk sail when the wind filled in shortly before their return.

A huge thanks to all our skippers for turning out and to Cathy and Helen for attending to our guests' needs when they returned to the club for refreshments afterwards.

On the whole, a thoroughly enjoyable evening's sailing with most guests expressing a wish to do it again at some point.

Our next Open Sailing event takes place on Tuesday the 11th July 2023.
