Welcome to the Royal Forth Yacht Club. We are an established water-sports club with over 150 years of history. The Club is based at Granton Harbour within easy reach of Edinburgh city centre and provides fast access to the beautiful sailing waters of the Firth of Forth, for day sailing or for ventures further afield.
A varied racing and cruising programme is offered for members’ participation and the Club has its own fully serviced moorings for members’ boats and a manned launch service to access them. Our extensive boatyard is available for secure boat storage and basic maintenance. There are several club boats for members to use, as well as providing the opportunity to crew for other boat owners.
Our onshore facilities include a welcoming clubhouse, function room and patio with licensed facilities and hospitality seating for up to 70 persons to accommodate the busy, varied social programme throughout the entire year.

There have been some wonderful scenes on the water since the racing buoys were put in place on 9th July. The Saturday Series last weekend was the first outing for the new circle marks with Sunday's Crombie Cup proving the bigger test! The final four race marks have been launched today by our fabulous four harbour heroes: Piotr, Cathy, John and Joe. With our circle now complete we are all brushed up and ready for racing this weekend, including the Crombie Cup on Sunday 11th. The refurbishment of the Royal Forth Yacht Club kitchen is now stunningly complete after a tremendous effort by our House team under the leadership of Rear Commodore Will Davies. On Sunday 4th July, the club celebrated and commemorated Sandra Cameron's thirty-seven years of dedicated service to the Royal Forth Yacht Club. Sandra retired at the end of April after a long association with the club, running the office and a great deal more. Patience is a virtue, and aren't we all learning this lesson well. It's wonderful to finally complete a task that has been pending since the most recent election of a new Commodore to the club in November 2020.
