Racing

RFYC runs a full racing calendar throughout the season for keelboats in the excellent sailing waters of the Firth of Forth around Granton and Wardie Bay with a large range of marked courses for all wind directions.

The club racing calendar typically consists of Open and Closing Regattas, Evening racing Wednesday/Thursday as well as Saturday racing. This is complemented with Passage races in association with neighbouring Forth Corinthian YC and individual Cup races such as stern chases, single-handed race and crew races.

The club also hosts open and national class events from time to time, and an annual "One Design" open event for Dragons, H-Boats, Squibs and 707s, plus the Edinburgh Regatta for keelboats of all types in association with FCYC.

2026 Open Events - details will be published as soon as available:-

• Edinburgh Regatta - 22/23 August - racing for all types of keelboats, both "round the cans" and passage races
• One Design Regatta - 19/20 September - racing for Dragons, H-Boats, Squibs and 707s
