Open Sailing - 3rd May, 2022

The first of the RFYC Open Sailing evenings got off to an encouraging start earlier this month with a variety of boats making themselves available to take participating guests out on the water for a few hours.

The majority of boats left the harbour and made way towards Inchkeith and were able to make good use of the wind and limited time available to give their guests a brief taster to sailing on the Forth.

On return to Granton, most boat owners and guests made use of our clubhouse and enjoyed a refreshment and a chance to discuss their experiences.

Generally, the opinion received on the night was favourable with most people expressing their gratitude and encouragingly, their interest in joining in on the next Open Sailing evening.

The Open Sailing evenings provide an opportunity for everyone taking part. Be it, non-members looking for a taste of sailing or a club to join, non-boat owning members looking to refresh or improve their skills or boat owning members looking for the opportunity to recruit crew or just meet people who share a similar interest in sailing.

Our next Open Sailing evening sail is on Tuesday 7th June 2022 and if you're able to join in, please check out the RFYC web page, book a ticket and come along and join in the fun with us. We meet at the club patio area at 17.45hrs with the intention of being on the water at 16.00hrs returning to the clubhouse afterwards for refreshments and socialising.
