Cruise in Company - 5th September, 2021
The final cruise in company of the 2021 season took place on the above date and was very well supported by the membership. The forecast was for a bright day, but with little or no wind.
Expecting to have to motor therefore, the fleet departed the harbour bound for Aberdour.
An unexpected, but nevertheless welcome, easterly breeze filled in and gently wafted the boats across the 'Forth to our destination, which we reached in about 1 hour.
Aberdour Boat Club was expecting us, and we entered the harbour to find plenty of space alongside to tie up to. By this time, we were basking in sunshine, and we all enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of our surroundings and being able to go ashore to exchange a 'yarn' with our fellow mariners.
The boats in attendance were:- Amare, Amy-K, Glengarry, Hoodlum, Idothea, Myrine, Shalimar, Sibin, Silkie, Solveig, Sonsie and Tidecatcher.
We all headed back mid-afternoon and the easterly breeze picked up a bit more, giving us all a super reach back to Granton. A fitting end to a lovely day and a fairly good cruising season.
