Cruise in Company - 4th June. 2023

The second cruise in company of the season got underway at 11:30am on Sunday 4 June. The forecast was for a bright day with an easterly breeze; just right for heading north to one of our favourite destinations; Aberdour !
The event was well supported with Gonzo, Idothea, Moonwhite, Myrine, One For The Road, Orithea, Solveig, Tidecatcher and Tiny Dancer being represented.
The fleet set off and enjoyed a brisk reach to Aberdour, and we arrived to find the harbour quiet, with plenty of room for us all to berth. Tidecatcher nosed in first (on the rising tide) and berthed with 300mm beneath her keel.
As the others came in to berth, members were able to disembark and socialise on the pier. Graham Wade was 'celebrating' yet another birthday (I don't know why at his age) and Mike Griffiths had brought a cake for us all to enjoy. A passing visitor obliged us by taking a group photograph.
The return passage was made more interesting by a rise in wind strength, to F5, giving the fleet a cracking return to Granton with the wind on the beam.
So ended yet another very enjoyable event, and we will try to fit in another Aberdour gathering before the end of the season.
