Open Sailing - 23rd July, 2024

The latest Open Sailing event at RFYC attracted interest from a dozen individual guests and one family of four - All keen to be sailing on the Forth!
With steady Easterly winds of 10/12 knots and a slight sea state most of the fleet went out under full sail and were able to give their guests an exhilarating time on the water as they headed over to the deep water channel and back.
On returning to harbour, we were able to witness the last boat from the RFYC fleet leaving on their extended cruise to Orkney. Fair winds to them!
The evening ended with most skippers and their guests returning to the clubhouse for refreshments and a chance to chat about their experiences. The feedback received indicates that we could be welcoming another five new members to the club very soon:)
A huge thanks goes out to all the skippers for giving up their time, making their boats available and taking our guests out and looking after them on the water.
Particular thanks go to Mark Harding for tending the bar on our return.
