Discover Sailing success on Sunday

The Club was a sea of smiling faces at our Discover Sailing event on Sunday
50 guests were welcomed through the doors for an afternoon of sailing related fun, before being taken out for a trip in one of the variety of yachts that Club members skippered for guests. We had larger cruising yachts, fast racing yachts and a small wooden dayboat- a whole range of experiences on offer!
Club volunteers Rob, Nick and Fiona showed guests how to tie knots and explained how wind interacts with a boat's sail to move it through the water, before guests were kitted out with life jackets and then hit the water!
Once back on dry land, the BBQ on the patio was a very welcome sight! Thankfully the rain and hail (!) stayed off until closing time, but did catch poor skipper Andrew as he was winching Pintail, the wooden dayboat, back into the yard!!
Thanks to all our guests for coming and having a great time, and all our Club members who volunteered their time, and their boats, and made the day a huge success
