WINTER TALK - Easter Island by Reed Boat - Nick Thorpe, Thurs 21st March, 7pm

Back in the early months of the new millennium, travel author and RFYC member Nick Thorpe set off on an experimental voyage to Easter Island on a slowly-sinking boat made of bundled reeds.
On Thursday 21st he will recount the hair-raising details of his 2500-mile voyage, as well as subsequent boat-hitching circumnavigation of Scotland and how themes of improvised navigation and intentional drift continue to inspire his life and work. www.nickthorpe.co.uk
