Open Sailing - 13th August, 2024

With W/SW winds gusting up to 37knts and a moderate sea state our guests were treated to a little bit of excitement last night on our penultimate Open Sailing event.
Heavily reefed, the four boats that took part left the harbour and headed towards the deep water channel before turning round and heading back to harbour. Some boats chose to prolong the experience and took their guests on a trip around Wardie Bay before returning to harbour.
Our brief time spent on the water for these events is, as always, dictated by our launch service and the short sails that we are fortunate enough to experience on these occasions are merely tasters of what our guests can expect sailing from our wonderful harbour on the Forth.
On return to the harbour, most skippers and crew headed up to the clubhouse to enjoy a refreshment and the chance to discuss the evenings event.
Thanks to all the skippers who took part and special thanks to Neil Moffat for manning the bar on our return to the clubhouse.
Our final Open Sailing event of the season takes place on 27th August 2024.
