Open Sailing- 15th July

With Stuart away sunning himself on the west coast with Brian Robertson on Tide Catcher I was tasked with penning a few words regarding the last Open Sailing event.

We had the pleasure of the following boats: Moon White, Eriskay, Gonzo, One For The Road, and we were especially pleased to see Mark Primrose bringing Grateful out of hibernation for the occasion.

We all had a pleasant blast across the Forth. The rain stayed off and with a fair wind we enjoyed a couple of hours on the river. Afterwards, several crew and skippers retired to the bar for some light or not so light refreshments.

I feel that it would be very remiss of me if at this point I failed to mention David Penny's new " Sailing Jacket". It's a cracker David, and we will not fail to see you at the helm of Gonzo when you are wearing it.

My thanks to all the skippers and crew who gave their time and to all our guests for joining us. A special shout out to Andrew McPherson for opening up the bar for us afterwards- thank you. Look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on the next Open Sailing which should be on Tuesday 29th July.
