Tuesday saw the second of our Open Sailing evenings take place at RFYC.
We had a very impressive representation of members turning out to take to the water with our guests.
In a very unusual turn of events, we managed to have almost as many boats as we had guests on the evening. This may have been due to poor weather conditions that were experienced just a few hours prior to the event putting some of our guests off.
However, it didn't deter our intrepid skippers and they were rewarded for their enthusiasm with what turned out to be a lovely night for getting out on the water for a couple of hours.
Returning to the clubhouse gave those guests who attended a chance to enjoy a refreshment and to have a chat with members about what the club has to offer. This resulted in a number of guests showing genuine interest in pursuing a RFYC membership and one new member signed up before the week was out.
Our next Open Sailing event is next Tuesday (27th June) at the slightly later time of 18.15hrs with the intention of being on the water for 18.30hrs.
