THANK YOU, Platinum Jubilee Parade of Sail, 4th June 2022

Published 01:00 on 6 Jun 2022
A big thank you to all twenty boats and members who braved the somewhat stronger than forecast wind on the Forth, Saturday 4th June for the Parade of Sail in honour of Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was a beautiful spectacle and an exhilarating downwind sail from Newhaven to Granton, enjoyed by many on land as well as those on the water. Our cadets displayed great skill, dexterity and confidence leading the Parade of Sail in such challenging conditions. Thanks to Fiona and the support team for looking after everyone. Thanks too to Will Davies and the House team who created a fantastic BBQ buffet afterwards with members tucking in whilst sheltering from the cold June wind.
There was many a mention of the event in press across the country, and our Commodore was featured on BBC Radio Scotland in the morning and BBC Scotland Evening News and STV in the evening, with Henry Abraham's stunning drone footage also being featured. There have been some wonderful photos taken by members David Penny, Richard Hyder, Fiona Drennan, Karen & partner Mark, and special thanks to member, Henry, aka Alba Aviation for the drone footage which he has subsequently set to Scottish pipes.
Head over to our facebook page to see a range of media, including the radio and TV clips and photo albums of the day. Do also follow us on twitter and instagram for the latest. If you wish to see the photos and do not use social media, please contact Karen in the office, admin@royalforth.org. Equally if you took any photographs, we would love to see them!
