Knowledge Hub- Night Sailing

The last Knowledge Hub on the water this season took us to the dark side. Nine brave sailors on two boats (Kudos and Sea Ventures IV) practised their night sailing skills. This included navigation by various lights (the first challenge was to recognise the various light houses in the Forth by their light characteristics), hoisting and dropping sails in the dark (illuminated only by red head torches, the moon, and Edinburgh's gorgeous night skyline), and avoiding unlit hazards (the RFYC racing marks, for example). Everyone made it happily back to shore and the idea of winter sails was warmly discussed - in the meantime, watch out for the announcement on the winter Knowledge Hubs in the clubhouse!
