Open Sailing: Tues 28th May, 2024

The first of the RFYC Open Sailing events took place on Tuesday this week and it was touch and go whether it would go ahead or not as the continued spell of unsettled weather posed a threat.
However, the weather gods were once again looking down on us favourably and we were able to enjoy a few hours excellent sailing in dry conditions.
With a steady E/SE wind of 8/10 knts a few boats in the fleet managed to sail over to within half a mile of Aberdour before turning around and heading for home. Others in the fleet opted to stay closer to the south coast and meandered closer to home.
On returning to the clubhouse for refreshments and for the chance to reflect upon the evening's event, the overall feeling received from our guests was that the evening's sail was a great success with some of them expressing a wish to take out membership.
Thanks go out, as usual, to the skippers and crew who volunteered their time to take our guests out and to Torben and Neil for tending the bar upon our return.
Our next Open Sailing event takes place on Tuesday 11th June 2024.
