Open Sailing - 11th June, 2024

After a slightly later than anticipated start, Open Sailing on this evening saw five boats offering up their time to give our guests a brief glimpse of how wonderful sailing on the Forth can be.
With E/NE winds of between 7/15knts and slight sea state, conditions were near perfect for an evening sail on the water.
Most skippers opted to head across towards Burntisland giving guests an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the handling characteristics of the boats before tacking and heading back to Granton.
On returning, skippers and guests retired to the Club for refreshments and a chance to socialise.
It is unfortunate that we are constrained by time on these occasions. However, these evening sails are merely a small taster of what RFYC has to offer and hopefully our guests enjoy it enough to continue their interest in sailing with us.
A huge thanks go out to all the skippers and crew who volunteered their time to take our guests out and to Neil Moffat for tending the bar upon our return.
