JUBILEE PARADE OF SAIL
SATURDAY 4TH JUNE 2022

All members are cordially invited to attend the Club's Jubilee Parade of Sail on Saturday 4th June.

The Club seeks to create a colourful spectacle in Wardie Bay by inviting all boat owners to sail a short downwind course flying either a spinnaker or goose winged if manageable. For motor boats, the flying of flags is encouraged.

What Time:
From 2.30pm, when the launch commences, for a 4.00pm start for the Parade.

Where:
In the vicinity of Wardie Bay.

What Course:
For a Westerly: Start at RFYC racing mark "E" which is located to the west of the harbour entrance with the finish in the area of RFYC racing mark "L" which is the most easterly RFYC racing mark in Wardie Bay midway between Newhaven and Leith Harbour entrances.

For an Easterly: Start at RFYC racing mark "L" and finish at the mouth of the harbour.

For other wind directions: The two marks will be decided on the day though similar to above.

If there are weather related changes to the intended activity on the water a message will be sent to all members on Friday 3rd. There will be no start or finishing line laid with marks to be past either to port or starboard.

When finished the designated course, boats can return to harbour.

Order of Parade: Self-starting where the slowest boats shall start first with increasingly faster boats filling in behind. Once all participants are known, suggested start times shall be circulated. Motor boats are free to make passage at any time.

What's Happening Ashore: There will be a social gathering with a BBQ after the Parade. If you require any further information please email me at commodore@royalforth.org.

Looking forward to seeing as many boats and members on the day.

Best wishes:
Michael Tasker
Commodore

Important Note: We are asking all members taking part to book a FREE ticket for the event. The intent for this event is that all boats reach a target location at approximately the same time. To achieve this, a staggered start will be setup based on the average speed of each participating vessel. By booking a FREE ticket, a list of participating vessels will be assembled from which the staggered starting order may be devised.
