Do you know a young person interested in dinghy sailing? We still have a few spaces available for this season's Cadets Club. Our dinghy sailing programme for young people aged between 10-18 runs on Tuesday evenings from 6pm during the sailing season. This is a great opportunity to develop sailing skills, have fun and make new friends. Both cadet and at least one parent/guardian need to be members of the Club to participate

Lift-in postponed from 8 April to (provisionally) 23 or 24 April
The decision has had to be made to postpone Monday's lift-in. With Storm Kathleen approaching and gales forecast for Tuesday 9th April, the risk to our operations is too high and therefore lift-in will not take place. Live Jazz and Sunday Roast: Sunday 24th March

WINTER TALK - Easter Island by Reed Boat - Nick Thorpe, Thurs 21st March, 7pm
Back in the early months of the new millennium, travel author and RFYC member Nick Thorpe set off on an experimental voyage to Easter Island on a slowly-sinking boat made of bundled reeds. On Thursday 21st he will recount the hair-raising details of his 2500-mile voyage, as well as subsequent boat-hitching circumnavigation of Scotland and how themes of improvised navigation and intentional drift continue to inspire his life and work. www.nickthorpe.co.uk

WINTER TALK - Sailing to Antartica - Gordon Campion, Thurs 7th March, 7pm
This is the story of sailing in Antarctica in a 70' steel expedition sailing yacht "Global Surveyor" from Largs. Gordon joined the boat in Ushuaia for 21 days at sea, first crossing Drakes Passage then visiting research stations and ex-whaling stations. He saw penguins, whales, and a lot of icebergs.
